Where We Work
NILECAPD operates across two critical contexts—South Sudan and Canada—addressing both the immediate impacts of conflict and the long-term challenges of displacement, integration, and community rebuilding.
Our work in Canada
In Canada, our work focuses on supporting South Sudanese immigrants and refugees, particularly those facing homelessness, isolation, and barriers to integration. Based in Calgary, NILECAPD provides street outreach, family reunification support, youth mentorship, and culturally grounded programs that help individuals reconnect with their community and rebuild stable lives.
We address both immediate needs—such as food, clothing, and access to services—and long-term challenges like mental health, employment, and social inclusion. Through initiatives like monthly community gatherings and mentorship programs, we create safe spaces where individuals can find belonging, healing, and opportunity. Our goal is to ensure that every person, no matter their past, has the support needed to build a hopeful future.
our work in south sudan
In South Sudan, NILECAPD works in some of the most underserved and conflict-affected communities, delivering life-saving humanitarian aid while building the foundations for long-term resilience. Our programs respond to urgent needs—such as food insecurity, lack of clean water, limited healthcare, and displacement—while also addressing the root causes of vulnerability through peacebuilding, education, and livelihoods support.
We work closely with local communities to promote reconciliation, strengthen protection systems, and empower families to rebuild their lives with dignity. From supporting survivors of violence to training farmers in climate-smart agriculture, our approach is holistic—ensuring that communities not only recover from crisis but are equipped to thrive beyond it.
